Another big announcement from Steve Jobs at WWDC today: Apple will be offering a new type of software for Macs this summer called "games" (pronounced "gaimz"). The new genre, being supported in a big way by publisher EA, will allow "players" to enter virtual worlds and take part in contests of skill. The first titles in EA's "game" line-up include Command & Conquer 3, Battlefield 2142, Need For Speed Carbon and Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. Later this year, Madden NFL 08 and Tiger Woods PGA Tour 08 will arrive on Mac at the same time as other systems -- apparently, "games" have been offered for several months elsewhere.

There are, of course, still plenty of unanswered questions. If you die in the game, does your corporeal form itself die? How does the on-screen man know what actions you want him to take? Do they come in teal? We'll keep digging.

Mimi is bimi. [May. 22nd, 2007|11:54 pm]
[What I'm hearing besides little voices: |Halcali]

I had to share this find:

It all started in the year 3000 when mankind was tormented with hunger caused by worldwide food shortages. The founder, old Aida, a molecular biologist, was distressed at the seriousness of the situation, and devoted himself day and night to his studies. Finally, he achieved a great breakthrough in generating a brand new creature called "Edible Artificial Girls Mimi" derived from the DNA of colitis germs.

Mimi is very savory and rich in nutrition which the name implies.(The character pronounced Mimi is a rhyme of Bimi which denotes deliciousness.)

Mimi was served all over the world. People were also touched by Mimi's lovely appearance, and innocent nature, her only intention being a devotion to giving herself to fulfilling the appetite of men. Her pure heart would be worth comparing with the hare in the ancient Indian legend that is said to throw its body into the fire and to become a star in the night sky.

Mimi with no sense of pain, and no fear of death by nature is also regarded as an ideal creature for food from the viewpoint of the humanitarian. After the emergence of Mimi, the bad habit of eating the meat of farm animals died out.

Mimi, who can be your good companion or kept in food storage, has taken a firm hold within our life-style in the role of a pet. With the great development of new flavors, we can now count more than five thousand varieties of Mimi. Mimi provides most of food on the earth.

Today, we have the honor of opening the second restaurant on Mars under the direct management of the maker. We deeply appreciate your ongoing patronage. We are pleased to offer a good time from the hand skilled bio-confectioners handed down since our foundation.

I ate half a box of Fat Free Fig Newtons for dinner last night, and the other half this morning(afternoon) for breakfast. I'll be feeling the consequences later.

No fat though...right?

What the butt. Arthur and the Invisibles has gorgeous CG and the cast is ok(Madonna? Come on, really?), but the story at the present is a total rip of stuff done before. It's so old, they've even had a movie with the story, The Borrowers....anyone? It sucked yes, but it's been done. I'm not saying I could come up with a new and original idea, and who knows, maybe Luc hasn't heard of anything with that story and collective unconscious at play, but I doubt it. Wait, I forget where that sentence was suppose to go. The point is, I probably couldn't come up with an original idea, but I'd research any idea I had and try my best to not make a pretty close copy to it.

I thought of something really good to discuss on Livejournal, but I have since forgotten what the subject was. I apologize.

Dave, Claire, Little Chris, and I played a boardgame tonight about Pop Culture. It was a good ol' time, I enjoyoed it. Dave and I conquered them on our last turn. I have to sculpt out the song, "Don't Worry, Be Happy" and Dave got it. Whooo.

Today was boring from 2:30-8:00. I had a Japanese skit that lastest 3 minutes. It was a Doraemon story(Doraemon is a long running tv-series and comic from the 70s and is comparable Mickey Mouse in the US). The stage direction that I discuss multiple times was compltely forgotten by the other members of the group, but I admit to my own faults in my performance. I spent 2 and a half hours on the monster used in the story. It is a spider with a cow's head. I will show it off next time people come over. I'm very proud of it, and that fact that I came up with the whole story in the shower the night before we had to meet about the skit. Go me.

Whoa ,long side story.

to continue...

I got back from lunch with Kevin and Big Chris at the Suwannee Room and just sat around until 8 when primetime television began. I had to watch The Office and 30 Rock tonight. Both shows are a big reason for me to be living these days. One Piece is an even bigger of my reason to live. Anyway....

I just don't know what to do with myself during my times of boredom. I know I could watch a movie or read a book, but that is no different in accomplishing anything real. I just feel like a bum when I'm stuck in a rut with nothing to do. I would have visited Royal Pavilliion, but I was pressured by time and that fact that no one there would be like me and have to watch their stories.

When I was on the phone with my mom last Sunday(we talk every Sunday). She asked me if I was happy. I wasn't sure what to say because it's a complex thing. I enjoy being around my friends and doing things that I enjoy like watching movies and what not, but overall I'm not really accomplishing anything. In classes I'm just taking stepping stones to the REAL things I want/need to learn, so class is pointless. I just wish I did things that had a real concrete reason and had to get done, or something that I could be proud about getting done. I just don't know.

On another note, I'm super pumped for the 1st and 2nd of December. Two activities to do! Maybe I'll meet a new girl to obsess over. At least having a girl to make up future situations with would spend some of my down time on. Now, this would only happen at Teri, Nikki, and Chelsea's party, which I'm super pumped about. I'm going to try and find some super amazing Christmas clothes, like a sweater to wear for it. The only stipulation, is that if I wear a crazy bad/awesome sweater, what will people I meet thing? Eh?

I got some sweet new animated movies in the mail for sweet cheap prices. I'm pretty pumped to watch them.

Today I had a ton of classes. Then I went to the Japanese conversation table and talked with this awesome Japanese people for almost 3 hours. Then I came home and got super tired and started squealing and screaming and dragging chair and scaring claire and video taping pure awesome. I put on my pure awesome headband to represent the awesome flowing through my body.

I forgot to watch Heroes. Poopy butt mugs. I'd better take care of that. Halcali is a sweet J-pop/rap girl duo. It's amazing.

Samâ taimumashin burûsu [Nov. 3rd, 2006|05:56 pm]
We talked about sexual harassment in Organization Behavior today. My teacher told the store of how a coworker said she looked nice one day. He said, "Can I say that?" and she said, "No, you shouldn't say that." What a bia. She then asked, "Would you say that about Vincent?" and he said, "No way, are you kidding?" See this is where things are dumb. A woman can't take a compliment without feeling objectified sometimes. If the guy had said, "Yes, Vincent looks good too," would she retract what she said earlier about it being rude and out of place? I think this is related to the fact that women kill chivalry. People usually dress to look nice, but when they are complimented, women feel objectified by the statement. I hope Pete or Zach aren't objectified when I say they look awesome in their killer sweaters. Should I be repremanded for such statements? Now, I know there is a barrier of what one could say to a coworker, but the simple statement of, "You look nice," should not offend, unless the receiver of the compliment feels like they don't look nice on other days. If a person said, "Snap, your butt looks amazing in those pants," I can see something being a problem, for women though, not men. Men would take the statement as flirtatious and flattering, and the woman would take it as rude, unless she has feelings for the male speaker. The whole thing contradicts inself so many times, it's so silly. It's crazy.

If you liked a girl in the present, but knew that she would be married to and have a child in the future with a guy with another name, would you change your name or accept that you would not end up with the girl in the future?

Here is a picture of my future wife. I will search Japan for her.

I got all excited because I was invited to a Halloween event and I actually was going to do something with myself and have fun. Unfortunetly, I was forgotten and spent the whole night at home doing what I always do, listening to music, putting off homework and checking facebook every 5 minutes. It's been a pretty depressing night.

"You want some nuts?!" [Jul. 25th, 2006|11:23 pm]
I met one of the most amazing men ever tonight.  His name is Pard.  I get to see him tomorrow.  He has a balance of 64 dollars in his bank account and a storage unit full of porn that he owes $1000 of rent on.  Ask me about him.  He can't be described in a lj entry.

Ask about Roger too.  He's amazing too.  Not only does he keep track of the amount of mileage he gets from his 12 year old truck he bought for 400 dollars, but he states that grunting while you pick something up or throw something heavy gives you 15% more power.  I love him to death.

How bad do you want to see Daft Punk's movie, Electroma.  I hope your answer is:  super bad.

To Dave and Chris.  I am downloading tons of amazing French electronica/pop.  I'm getting as much I can from the artists who made the tracks for the Lost in Translation soundtrack.  Unfortunetly, the Japanese bands used on the soundtrack are not on the internets:(.

TMNT [Jul. 22nd, 2006|08:44 am]
I'm not sure how I'm feeling about another ninja turtles movie, but I admit, the teaser looks awesome.  I hope for a beautiful use of CGI like in Spider-Man though, but with a full movie.  We'll see if that happens.

Yesterday I had the most amazing jinx moment.
I was checking out after throwing away a lot of furniture at the landfill and the same lady is in the landfill office everytime I'm there on a Friday.  She always ends the exchange with, "Have a good weekend!"  So I threw it out at the exact same time she did and yelled, "Jinx!"  It was amazing.

You know you're in a rednecks house when you move their couch to find a car windshield. That happened to me today. Worst of all, it was in my neighborhood:(
